2023년 한국은행 본관이 완공되면서 화폐박물관과 함께 1900년대 옛건물인 별관을 전시와 연구공간으로 탈바꿈했습니다. 박혜수 작가는 한국은행 별관의 상설 전시공간의 총괄 기획과 작품제작을 맡았습니다.
2022~2023년 약 2년간 작업한 이번 프로젝트는 한국은행의 사료와 한국은행사료반과 함께 예술가가 재해석한 금융에 대한 작품들로 구성돼있습니다.
이번 프로젝트는 한국은행이 요청하는 내용과 방문객들의 특성을 반영해야하는 요소등에서 공공 프로젝트와 같은 접근으로 진행했습니다.
2020년 중앙선거관리위원회와 협업프로젝트를 진행한 이후, 두번째 비예술기관과 진행한 협업 프로젝트로서 예술이 사회에서 어떤 역할과 발언이 가능한 지 실험하고자 하는 시도입니다.
With the completion of the Bank of Korea's main building in 2023, the annex, a dilapidated 1900s building, was transformed into an exhibition and research space featuring a numismatic museum. Hyesoo Park was responsible for the overall planning and production of the Annex's permanent exhibition space, which consists of a collection of financial artworks and documents that the artist reinterpreted in collaboration with the Bank of Korea's archive team.
The project was approached as a public project, taking into account the request of the Bank of Korea and the characteristics of the audience.
This is Park's second collaboration with a non-art institution, following a project with the National Election Commission in 2020, and is an attempt to experiment with what role and voice art can play in society.

한국은행의 연구자료와 금융, 경제 연구자료, 기사, 인터뷰, 사료 등을(문서, 사진 영상) 활용하여 중앙은행의 경제에서의 위치와 역할, 미래의 숙제를 일반 국민의 시각으로 알아보고자 한 멥핑 작품으로 관객들은 직접 자료들을 터치하여 비교하여 살펴볼 수 있습니다. 약 80여개의 팝업창이 열리며 각 팝업창은 자유로이 이동되고 크기조절도 가능합니다.

Using the Bank of Korea's research data, financial and economic research data, articles, interviews, and sources, we wanted to explore the central bank's place and role in the economy and its future tasks from the perspective of the general public. The audience can touch and compare the data directly on this flowchart. About 80 pop-up windows open, each of which can be moved and resized freely.

시장에서 활발하게 활동하는 30대 금융 애널리스트 2명과 2022년 한국은행통화경시대회 참가자 학생 15명을 초대하여 마련한 토론회 영상입니다. 이들은 왜 한국엔 세계적인 금융회사가 나오지 않는지, 변화하는 세계환경에서 과연 금융은 무엇을 할 수 있는지 그리고 중앙은행의 역할은 확대돼야하는지와 같은 이슈로 토론회를 진행하고 질의응답을 담은 2채널 작품입니다.
This is a video of a debate organized by two financial analysts in their 30s who are active in the market and 15 students who participated in the 2022 Bank of Korea Monetary Challenge. The debate covered issues such as "why there are no global financial companies in Korea," "what can finance do in a changing global environment," and "should the role of the central bank be expanded," and featured Q&A with students.

" 일반 시민의 시선에서 경제를 바라보기 위해, 금융계 바깥에 위치한 현대미술가의 영상 및 아카이브 작품을 통해 한국의 중앙은행과 금융산업을 조망해 본다. 터치스크린을 활용한 플로우차트 형식의 아카이브 작품 〈중앙은행 알아가기〉는 현대와 미래의 금융산업 흐름과 중앙은행의 변화를 한눈에 보여주어 금융과 중앙은행에 대한 관람객의 이해를 돕는다.
이외에도 두 편의 영상 작품을 통해 금융을 둘러싼 다양한 화두를 집중적으로 다루어 본다. 다큐멘터리 작품 〈Elephant in the Room〉은 시장, 정부, 중앙은행의 전문가 3인에게 극대화되고 있는 자본 양극화와 금융 자본주의 속에서 각자의 책임과 역할, 변화 방향과 대안을 묻는다. 〈미래의 금융〉은 시장에서 활발하게 활동하고 있는 금융 애널리스트들의 토론회의 영상으로, 2022년 한국은행의 통화정책 경시대회의 참가자들을 초대하여 20대의 젊은 경제 연구자들이 흥미로운 주제와 질문을 던지는 작품이다.
아울러 자산 형성과 통화정책, 중앙은행에 대한 질문을 묻는 키오스크 설문 <Survey For Money>를 통해 방문자의 답변을 남김으로 상호 소통의 공간으로 조성하고, 한국은행의 외관과 내부의 역사적 변천을 살펴볼 수 있는 사진 작품 <Untitled>도 함께 전시된다."
